mission
Homeless people receive 2 pads per cycle from shelters. The average person uses around 20.
“Periods are the worst.” to many of us, it means having cramps. For others it means giving up a meal or their dignity to get access to basic menstruation products.
solution
My team and I created a solution to bridge the social gap between people who bleed by connecting those who can afford menstrual products to those who need help to access them.
We created foldable posters with pockets, that enable people to give and receive menstruation products without barriers. These posters are distributed in public restrooms and are accessible on our website to anyone who wants to help.
step 1
• card stock paper
• scissors
• double-sided tape
• download and print the poster
step 2
cut and fold according to the guidelines to make a pocket
step 3
stick double sided tape on the red rectangles and assemble the box according to the folds
impact
We launched with 50 posters in public bathrooms located throughout NY guerrilla style. Results were beyond our expectations - people started creating events and donation pages to carry out the activation themselves.
